nearing the end of a journey

Well hello everyone,

It’s getting down the end of the school year now. It’s starting to really hit me. I know I always say this but I just can’t believe how fast time goes by. I’m ready for summer, this 25 degrees thing is no longer making me happy. Yes, better than -20 but still, when  you know that WI is having weather near 70 you want to enjoy it too!

This week has been going good. I took the day off today due to my neck being in so much pain. I can’t wait to go back to the chiropractor when I come home. Constant headaches and stiffness is no fun.. Especially when I’m really trying to enjoy my last few weeks here.

Rachel and I have really been working out.. I think I am finally starting to see results! My body feels stronger, and it feels like it’s getting more toned. I’m ready to go on some long walks this summer and enjoy home for a little while before I make my next big move. Speaking of that, my Mom and I will be heading down to Florida in June to attend some job fairs. I’m crossing my fingers that this is where I will find my job! Either way, should be nice to spend some time with her down by the beach. Pretty excited about that.

My summer is already jam packed with things to do. I am going up north, Breann’s bachelorette party, her wedding, Missy’s bachelorette party, Florida, teaching summer school. Rachel visiting, John and Richelle visiting, camping, wolf river trips, WI Dells… and well, that already takes me into July. Hopefully will be moving down to Florida in August.
I wasn’t going to teach summer school this summer but I figured .. why not? I really love teaching in Lomira and I miss everyone there. They were all so supportive of my move to AK and I just couldn’t turn down the opportunity to make some money and work in my favorite school this summer. Four hours a day teaching either guided reading or getting ready for kindergarten… I CAN DO IT! This way, I won’t be taking any time off from kids either and this makes me happy!

Kids in my classroom are so ready for summer and ready for Kindergarten as well. They are excited for Kindergarten visitation next Monday and for graduation on the 16th. I have a lot of things to do before then, so its looking like I will be a busy girl right up until the very end.

Took some pictures of my kids looking at butterflies in our classroom. They are all very interested in them and what they are doing. One got out yesterday but I found it and captured it before the kids even knew what was happening. Hopefully it will be warm enough by the last day of school so that we can let them go. Otherwise, they will all freeze! And we don’t want that! Took some more pictures of the kids wearing their “ninja bands” they all wanted one.. pretty funny stuff I must say. And then, there are pictures of when Rachel and I went walking last weekend. We just walked up airport road, but you can get a pretty good view of the mountains from up there.

I’m sending home my last box on this Friday and selling the rest of my belongings up here on Sat. at our village rummage sale. It really is all coming to an end so quickly. Just think, 2 weeks from Sunday I will be home. CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love you all, thank you for being there during this very important year in my life. I’m so glad I was able to share my adventures with you. I’m sure I will have more adventures to come, just none that were like this. This has been a truly amazing experience in my life. I will never forget how blessed I was and am!
