A saturday full of smart remarks ;)

So, I have this beef with the U.S mail. I order things for a very expensive price and they don't arrive when they are suppose to. SO .. people if you're wondering why there are no pictures its because my camera was ordered and it hasn't arrived to the bush yet. I guess its my fault that I live in the middle of no where ... but still! I want my boots, and my hat and I NEED my camera! dang...

Ok, now that the venting is over I can tell you what I have been up to. Things at school went well this week, next week I'm sure I'll be freaking out a bit when my itinerant principal comes to observe me for a few days. Should be interesting to say the least.. I should be more positive and say "I'm gonna rock this" Right?

Last night I had my first home visit with a student and mom. It went very well. Grace was there with me since she's the one running the home visits. I'm mostly there to help with any questions and concerns. I really love getting to know the families. I was invited to a birthday party for another one of my students but it was all the way across town (I know such a huge town right) and by the time I got done with my home visit it was 8:30 so... I was exhausted. Again (because my life is so rough) It's not like I live in the most beautiful state or anything!

So, after my home visit i went home and sat around singing old tunes with Diana while Rachel looked at me like I was a crazy person. Then we decided that because we couldn't go out or do anything we'd go to the only place we could just to get out of the house. THE SCHOOL. (because we aren't there enough during the week) hahah It was open gym night for the men so we watched them play a basketball game or two and played with some little kids that were there. It was fun just to get out of the house and do something.We then went back to the house where Rachel and Diana proceeded to sing Disney songs... and by golly they  knew all the words. I was staring at them like "this is what we do on a Friday night" pretty amazing I know. So, once they went through basically every single Disney song they knew and were done singing we went to bed.

Do you know what we were going to do yesterday?????? I'm so glad that we didn't. We all had this big plan to walk 11 miles to the hot springs. It would have taken us 6 hours to get up there, cross over a stream and a river with no boat.. so basically swimming across freezing cold rivers of Alaska. By that time it would have been pretty late so we would have stayed in a wooden shack up there and froze our behinds off until the next morning when we went swimming in the hot springs. Then we would have hiked the 11 miles back home today. I don't think I could have handled that... honestly an uphill hiking experience such as that should take place starting early on a Saturday morning or something, not after a long school day. I'm glad that we decided not to go and instead I slept in until 11 this morning :)

Happy Saturday everyone! Hope you are enjoying the start of Fall. The weather has been so beautiful here, but I have a feeling that things will soon start to change.
