This one goes in the books as my first fishing experience ever... and in the Alaskan Wilderness of all places!!!

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to update you on what I have been doing. Yesterday Rachel, Diana and I went berry pickng up the hill aways. There are blueberries, blackberries, salmon berries and cranberries. We picked mostly blueberries and they taste so much different than what I am used to but absolutely delicious!

For dinner we went over by John who just arrived yesterday. He has been here for 6 years and he cooked us up some salmon, potatoes, rice and green beans. We have a great group of people here and it was nice to hang out for a little while and play some games.

Rachel and I watched another scary movie .... go figure and then we hit the sack.

TODAY..... Rachel, John and I decided that we should go fishing. We hopped on the 4hwheeler and drove about 10 miles out of town to Moses Point where there are a TON of salmon. It's pretty amazing to say the least. I didn't catch anything but had a couple close encounters with a big silver. John caught 3 fish. My experience today was something straight out of national geographic. FOR REAL. Each and everyday Alaska surprises me with more and more beautiful sights. I am in love with it here :) (we'll see how winter is) haha

Today is an astonishing 68 degrees outside which is typically unheard of in Elim. We are enjoying it!

Pictures from today are of the pink salmon who travel up stream to spawn and then die... others are of Rachel catching cod... and she REALLY didn't like that! We wanted SILVERS!

Enjoy :) Taking a nap and then heading down to dinner at the Principal's house!
